About the pageant

More than beauty β€” culture, character and confidence

Miss TiBaKalanga is an annual cultural pageant celebrating the heritage, identity and leadership of young women from the TiBaKalanga community. It is part of the TiBaKalanga Festival β€” one of the most significant cultural events in the Bulilima District and its diaspora.

This is not only a beauty competition. Every contestant is a village pageant winner who steps onto a public stage to represent her community, speak about her culture and carry the values of TiBaKalanga with pride. It takes courage, preparation β€” and community support.

Who takes part
Contestants are selected through village-level competitions across the Bulilima District. Each young woman arrives as her village's chosen representative, bringing her own story, talent and vision.
What happens on the day
Contestants compete across cultural presentation, public speaking, African attire, evening gown and on-stage questions β€” all at the TiBaKalanga Festival in December 2026.
The role of a sponsor
As a sponsor, you are matched one-to-one with a contestant. Your contribution funds her outfit, accessories and preparation. She carries your name on stage with pride.
