Welcome to the TG Silundika Cultural Community Centre
The TG Silundika Cultural Community Centre & Memorial Library (in short TGSCCC) is a beacon of cultural preservation and community development. Located in the Gala communal area of Ward 6, Bulilima District, Zimbabwe, our center is more than a physical space; it’s a tribute to the legacy of the late Zimbabwe nationalist and national hero, Tarcisius Malan George Silundika. This non-profit, private social infrastructure facility is a testament to our commitment to honor his memory and empower our community. Administered through a registered family trust and its sister organization, Stichting, The Silundika Family Foundation & the Zenzo Nkobi Heritage Gallery, registered in the Netherlands, we aim to foster cultural heritage sustainability in southern Africa. In 2015, the idea of the 10K Wrap Up & Run Road Race was born from a commitment to steer unemployed youth away from self-destructive activities. In a region where recreational opportunities are scarce, we aimed to introduce affordable, self-sustaining programs. The concept of a 10-kilometer race initially faced skepticism but eventually garnered youth support, along with other stakeholders in the district. This event unites the community in a day of family fun and support.
Our journey began with a heartfelt invitation extended to villages across the district. The Road to Miss TiBaKalanga, now unites eight vibrant villages. It’s a celebration of culture, beauty, and the aspirations of young women aged 16 to 25. To equip our coordinators for success, we organise comprehensive workshops, ensuring everyone is well-prepared for their essential tasks.
